About Us THE SILVER TSUNAMI
Seniors are one of the fastest growing populations that are at risk of homelessness (USA Today). Senior Citizens are being forced into retirement earlier. Pensions and Social Security do not go as far because of double digit inflation; rising food, gasoline, energy costs, property taxes, homeowners insurance, property repairs, and apartment rents.
This Foundation will help Seniors who are homeowners to rent their extra bedroom(s) to a senior who is having trouble finding a safe, affordable place to live and retire.
The Delaware Senior Home Shares was started in 2024 and funded in 2024 with an initial Angel Investor’s investment. This year we hope to receive blessings in the form of corporate charitable giving, grants and individual contributions and donations.

How Does This Work?
- What is Home Sharing? Home sharing is a living arrangement where two or more unrelated people share a dwelling. Each person has his/her own private space, with shared access to common areas like the kitchen, living room, and bathroom.
- Senior Citizens:Â Individuals aged 55 and over who have a spare room and would like to share their home.
- Home Sharers:Â Individuals or families who are looking for affordable housing and are open to living with a senior citizen.Â
- Our Social Intake and Orientation Counselors:Â They will guide you through the process and answer your questions.
